Nicodemi Cerasuolo Rosé 2012 $13.99
Tasting notes: Italian for "cherry" this Cerasuolo is certainly reminiscent of a big,
freshly picked basket of cherries with a gorgeous color. Right within is
a big gush of macerated strawberries that captivate. This carries
through the palate with juicy and spicy notes.
Varietals: Montepulciano
Region: Abruzzo, Italy
Wednesday's answer:
Lots of good stuff yesterday... First Kevin (little brother) Beyerly chimed in with a feeling about his "Pizza theme" suspicion and wrote "I see crushed red peppers, excellent on top of the theme mentioned yesterday!" He was not done for the day.
Soon after Jackie (I'm with him) Beyerly re-affirmed hubby with "Red
pepper flakes are perfect on pizza" and then added "and then you wash it down with a
glass of cold, crisp Rose.....it helps mellow out the spiciness of the
red pepper flakes" Do you see how she included the Rosé in there? Those Beyerly girls are bright. I like the way she incorporated the wine in her answer
Next up was the games answer guru, Mark (meet my family) Beyerly who put up a coded response which is becoming one of his trademarks. He wrote "Mangia
mangia! This is a challenging one, but I believe this joint clocks in
at 60+ years, although you know would not know it since the interior was
recently renovated. This is one of my frequent favorites for pizza in
Fairfield and they serve some fine italian favorites as well. Who wants
some Apizza?" There by giving people some clues to the answer and brother Kevin was all over it! A quick response from him seemed to have solved everything. His answer- "Great clue bro, even a northerner CT'er can get that! Apizza Center!" suddenly, everyone could stop the researching and guessing, it was solved... or was it?
A little while later the good Chefmichaelatyourservice came around and put the brakes on the Beyerly celebration and domintiation of the week by saying "Ooopsy,
didn't "Apizza Center" recently enter the witness protection program
(a.k.a. major renovation) & is currently known as "Rocco's" ???". Hmmm... this was a new wrinkle. Could he be right? Did the Beyerly's unwittingly fall into our trap?
Big brother Mark (have to save the family name) Beyerly came back around and gave the chef his due with "Officially it is Rocco's Apizza center now - good call chef!"
Nicely done Chef and the best part of it is that my nemesis was finally WRONG! Not stumped, oh no, not this time... This time we simply tricked him or should I say them. (alright, so they were kind of right but this is all I get so excuse me while I gloat) It is time for a Beyerly family meeting to right the ship and get back on top of things. Be careful everyone, things are not always what they seem.
Good luck today!
