After an easy start this week we had a couple of days where the game tested you like never before. We do want to make sure that you don't get bored, right? Yesterday we lightened up a bit, not too much, but we did give you a more iconic, historic home in our fair town and you jumped right in.
Kristine George Andres was the first to put up her answer and made it simple as she quickly solved the mystery with "Sturges Cottage on Mill Plain Road". Just like that the previous two days of wondering and consternation were lifted. She was not the only one to provide the answer however...
Mark (I'll take this to the next level) Beyerly chimed in and expanded the answer by saying "(Jonathan) Sturges Cottage. Circa 1840 and a National Historic Landmark." So there you have it, the complete answer to the puzzle, right? He finished off with this diddy "And in my opinion, if this is a "cottage" I would like to see their version of a "house"...." and he is right, this is an awful big cottage!
Next up was the good Chef, who by the way has been quiet the past few days. Chefmichaelatyourservice gave us a bit more info when he expanded the answer even further writing "Mary Russeau's gorgeous home on Mill Plain Rd... The site of many wonderful parties." Well that has to be worth a google... so I did and learned that this home was originally owned by Henry Rousseau who was a primary personality in the Frito's company, more here and that Mary is a direct decendant. There is lots more about them in the link provided and it is a nice story if you take the time to read it.
Aside from our answers we had a good number of "likes" and we want to end this week on a strong note. This is another one that is a bit harder than the average clue so take some time and let's see who can get it first. Are you ready? Go...
