This ripe red boasts flavors of cherry, cedar and herb matched to a medium-bodied frame. The acidity and tannins are in the correct proportions, offering a lingering finish. Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Best from 2015 through 2024.  Wine Spectator, 90 pts

Chateau de Beaucastel Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet de Beaucastel 2010   $26.99
Deep ruby.  Pungent raspberry and cherry aromas, along with Asian spice and floral qualities.  Fleshy red fruit and lavender pastille flavors pack a serious punch, with zesty minerality and a hint of allspice. providing brightness.  The impressively long, sweet finish echoes the floral element and clings with excellent tenacity.  International Wine Cellar, 92 pts

Chateau des Jacques (Maison Louis Jadot) Moulin a Vent 2011   $19.99
Ripe dark cherry, plum and cassis with marrow-rich savory suggestions of meat stock. Salt, stone, iodine, mocha and toasted nuts add intrigue to a sustained finish . . . this was brought-up in one-third each in new barriques, used barriques and tank . . . An outstanding value, it should reward following at least through 2017 and quite possibly beyond.  Wine Advocate, 91 pts

Roederer Estate Brut N.V.    $19.99
This blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir is one of the best sparkling wines you’ll find at this price.  It’s stylishly dry and fancy, with yeasty lime, strawberry, and vanilla flavors.  Editor’s Choice, Wine Enthusiast, 91 pts
