WINE CLASS: The Dry Dinner Wines of Portugal Thu, November 7th 2013 7pm-9pm



     Portugal has a well earned reputation for producing some of the world’s great dessert wines and later in this semester we will visit the great Ruby and Tawny ports on which this country has made its reputation.
The lesser known but fast growing category of dry wines are also being recognized by wine appreciators of all types for their quality and for their affordability. Less than a 15 years ago the number of dry red and white wines coming in to the US. From Portugal were sparse but now the market is catching up to what its inhabitants have always known and that is, Portugal has very good wine in this category. 

Join us as we explore the regions and grape varietals that have made Portugal a force in the wine producing world and taste the future as the world catches up to the newest arrivals and previously unknown wines that are coming available. 

There is more to Portugal than sweet wines and Vihno Verde and is this class you will discover how and why the reputation of this country is being touted by critics and wine professionals for its contribution to the other side of wine.
