Rosé of the day - Friday June 28, 2013

Tasting notes:  This is clean and crisp, with bright red fruit like wild strawberries. On the palate it makes quite the impression as a easy drinking, dry rosé: snappy, fair, polished, and bright, this is an engaging to the last drop.
Varietals: Garnacha

Region: Campo de Borja, Aragón, Spain

Thursday's answer: i don't know about everyone else but I just loved this picture. It is of course the sculpture of Mark Twain that sits on the sidewalk in front of Sweet Rexies Candy. Renzo did a great job of picking up the natural levity there is in Twains persona. He was not the only one...

Mark (Not Twain) Beyerly put up a famous quote by the writer regarding his love for Champagne (appropriate in that this is a promotion for Harry's)  "Too much of anything is bad, but too much champagne is just right" Nicely done Mr Beyerly, nicely done... drat!

Next was Joe Worthington who was yesterdays spot on answer when he said "On Post road outside Sweet Rexies". That is exactly right and Joe has done this a few times now, Keep it up!

Then we had Alexander Dacey who captured this one very well with just one word "Candy!" and it brought a smile to my face. Alexander is becoming a player. Nice job from you too sir.

Cindy Carley Barker also captured the feel of this one very well when she posted "Ah, Mr. Twain isn't much of a conversationalist anymore but he loves to sit with me while I munch on my Swedish fish outside Rexies on th Post Road!" This was another one that brought a smile to my face and I guess if you have Mark twain and some candy, life is pretty good! Thank you for being part of it Cindy. That is two days in a row, you may be finding your stride too.

Chefmichaelatyourservice showed up last because he was working at our previous days location (The Museum). His answer was a question that I don't know the answer to. here is his comment "... but if Mr. Twain was sitting where he is now many years ago, wouldn't he be sitting in front of Larry's Diner ???" Good question Chef, anyone know the answer?

This promotion has turned in to a great exchange and maybe some of that is simply the Twain influence yesterday with all of the witty comments but it seems that there is a lot of smart commenting. Thanks to all that have gotten involved!
