Rosè of the day - Friday May 3, 2013

Chateau D'Esclans Rosè 2012

Tasting notes:

The Chateau d' Esclans Rose has an aroma containing wet stone, peach, honeysuckle, and a hint of apple. Its round and light in the mouth with low acidity. The taste contains significant mineral notes, cucumber, and a hint of apple and pear. It does have a nice creamy finish similar to creme fraiche. Excellent price and taste.. great for summer drinking.

Varietals: Grenache, Rolle

Region: Cotes de Provence, France

Yesterday's answer: There were alot of involved yesterday, Thank you. Michael Pascarelli, jumped in first, Pavilion at FF beach, then Domenico and Dennis, and Robin with Penfield 2 (thanks Millie). Joe Worthington reminds us that it is a Great Rosè (true).John Maldon took his shot with South Benson Marina which, I have to say, is a solid guess. As soon as he put it in my head I had to think about it. Finally, Mark Beyerly got about as specific as we could have hoped with...
"I believe the correct location (and official name) is the boat racks next to the Jackie Durrell Pavillion at Penfield Beach" yep, that is about as right as you can be.
-Thanks all

This weekend has quite a bit going on at the corner with Fairfield Cheese Company celebrating 4 years, The kentucky Derby Mint Julep tasting, Cinco de Mayo, and of course our Beer and Wine tastings... lots of reason to stop by!
