Rosè of the day Friday April 19, 2013

Mulderbosch Cabernet Rosè  $11.99/$129.00

Tasting notes: Vinified from Cabernet Sauvignon, this rose is vibrant and ripe with layered aromas of strawberry, red cherry, and raspberry with a hint of rose petal. The palate is similarly fruit-forward with flavors of strawberry, pomegranate, and passion fruit. Enjoy with Thai food, crab cakes, fruit-glazed pork chops, and fresh fruit.

Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

Region: South Africa

Menu: Rose' is big enough to stand up to a wide variety of dishes; I paired it with a baked zucchini cheese pie that included onions, garlic, basil, oregano, mozzarella, parmesan and asiago; this Rose' didn't even blink. Pretty gutty for a "pink" wine.

yesterday's answer: Chris Therrien jumped in with the right answer yesterday with Fairfield Cheese. Thanks for playing along with us Chris! Today could be a bit more difficult if you aren't very local. Lets see what people come up with.
