Wine Tasting - Saturday May 14th 2016

Weekly Wine Tasting
Saturday, May 14th
with Christopher Lawther of
Hartley & Parker

Whispering Angel Rose 2015 $21.99
An irresistible pink! Charming, refreshing, refined, and with plenty of juicy, enticing, strawberry and berry fruit. This is a rosé that should be in everyone’s cellars, without exception. Drinkable is an understatement and you’ll keep on coming back for seconds!

Broglia Gavi Di Gavi 2014 $19.99
Intense, clean and fruity. Ripe golden plums and green apples are edged with flinty, salty tones. Lively acidity further extends fairly rich palate. Easy to drink and a good food wine to boot.

Mural Douro Red 2013 $12.99

Made from a blend of grapes, this reserva is a serious and structured wine that will need some aging. The tannins are solid, firm and show nice concentration on the palate. At the moment, the ripe fruit that is there is buried under this tannic edifice. This fine wine needs time—enjoy from 2018.

Condado De Haza Ribera Del Duero 2012 $24.99
"This rich red shows a deep core of plum, bramble and mineral, with notes of loam and game that impart a savory character. Solid tannins support a thick texture, while balsamic acidity keeps this balanced. Austere but harmonious. Drink now through 2024." 93pts Wine Spectator

Beer Tasting May 6th from 4 - 7pm

Your Host:
Aaron (Craft Reppin') from
Otter Creek Brewing

Fresh Slice $8.99 6pkc / $16.99 12pkc
This White IPA recipe tips the scales with a slice of clementine, a hit of coriander and an 1/8th of...wait, what? This one features a crisp, fresh citrus ripeness deriving from additions of clementine juice and sweet orange peel in the brew process. The first Otter Creek can offering, this is one slice you'll be holding all summer long!

Steampipe $10.99 12pkb
We burned the rulebooks, and when the smoke cleared we created this counter-culture interpretation of a California-style common lager dosed with juicy hop flavors. Mosaic and Galaxy hops shine through a golden, orange-hued lager that’s as clean and free as the open road.

Backseat Berner $10.99 6pkc

The first year-round IPA in Otter Creek history, Backseat Berner is an American beauty that's loaded with juicy hops. Like Oslo, Brewmaster Mike's 150 pound Bernese mountain dog that adorns the label, Backseat Berner is your everyday companion for life's adventures.

Variety Pack $14.99 12pkb

Delicate & refined with wild strawberry & cranberry

Bachelet Hautes Cote De Beaune 2014 $24.99
Very light in color, smokey delicate and soft.

Night Swimah 6pbtl $10.49
Belgian style Witt flavored with sweet orange peel, corriander, natural raspberries, and hopped with Citra hops. Sweet/tart meets in the middle and makes this the perfect session ale.

White Electric Coffee Stout 4pbtl $8.99
A mix of malts -- Maris Otter from England, Chocolate, Crystal, Roasted Barley and Chocolate Wheat -- along with EKG hops and specially-roasted White Electric coffee from New Harvest roasters create a complex beverage with notes of bittersweet coffee and chocolate.

Zeppelin 4pbtl $8.99
A classic Hefeweizen, Zeppelin is brewed with mix of Pilsner and Wheat malts from Germany and hopped with German Hallerteau hops. Hints of clove and vanilla from the traditional yeast used in fermentation round out this brew's crisp and refreshing taste.

Beer Tasting April 15th from 4 - 7pm

Your Host:
Scott Valley
From Charter Oak

Brown Ale 6pkbtl $10.29
The American style is somewhat unique because so many of the brown bodied beers are of an English style, which tend to be sweeter. The Brown Ale pours a rich dense brown shade with a faint roasted and tasted aroma.  The brewery uses both malted and roasted barley in the beer and a total of seven types of barley allow for a wonderfully complex taste, yet well balanced.

I.P.A 6pkbtl $10.29
One can not help but enjoy the aroma of the citrus and pine from our fresh, finishing hops.  Indeed, a familiar nose for most American India Pale styles. Once the liquid reaches your tongue, our hops are loud and clear and as this IPA reaches the back of your palate, the hops only become more flavorful and intense, although we brew this to yield a full backbone of malted barley to hide all the bitterness.

Pale Ale 6pkbtl $9.99
This west coast styled beer pours a distinctive amber shade and enjoys a nice head of foam.   The Royal Charter Pale Ale beer enjoys a citrus nose and is designed to be a sessionable beer. The beer starts off a well-balanced ale with plenty of malt backbone and the hops become 'alive' on the back end
